16 Windows Key tips for Windows 8

Since I bought my new laptop, I haven’t really used the Windows key located between the fn key and alt key of my laptop’s keyboard, until today. I figured out some useful key combination that I think would benefit you.

Below you will find 15 uses for the Windows key:

Windows key + D: will switch to your desktop.

Windows key + Q: will show all available apps.

Windows key + R: will open Run.

Windows key + L: will log you out of the system.

Windows key + C: will display the time, date, day and charm menu bar.

Windows key + M: will minimize any open application.

Windows key + F: will open Search for files.

Windows key + P: will open second screen option.

Windows key + E: will open My Computer.

Windows key + W: will open Search for settings.

Windows key + 2: will open libraries (documents, pictures, music, videos).

Windows key + 4: will switch from one open application to another.

Windows key + +: will open Magnifier or zoom in.

Windows key + -: will zoom out.

Windows key + X: will open Windows Tools Menu.

Press and hold Windows key will show the Start screen.
